About HSR / Corporate Social Responsibility

Over the years, HSR and our leaders have donated generously to charity. We have provided leadership and advisory services to charities, civic organizations, and other non-profit organizations.

We have contributed to poor orphanages, schools, communities, and other worthwhile projects. At the same time, we have responded to relief efforts for the Asian Tsunami, Pakistan earthquake, and other major crisis.

We believe the time is right to initiate a charity plan to better organize our humanitarian effort and fulfill our corporate social responsibility.

Everyone Has An Important Part To Play

HSR Charity Challenge is a non-profit initiative of the staff and agents of the HSR Property Group. These wonderful people in the HSR Family are at the heart of our organization. HSR exists because of them and through them; we serve the world around us.

The Challenge was started to encourage our family members to do well in their career and to do good all the time. We believe it is an integral part of our lives to donate time, talents, and treasures (including money) to worthwhile causes.

As a team, we can synergize and leverage on each other to optimize our charitable contributions and results. We will draw on the expertise of external professionals and partner like-minded organizations and individuals to make the world a better place.

Every person is important. Every contribution counts. Every effort will help to leave a positive legacy for planet earth.

Corporate Social Responsibility Is Part Of Our DNA

We take a holistic approach in fulfilling our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a growing concern. It is embedded throughout our organization, from corporate philosophy, business practice, and contributions to our workforce and their families, to improving communities and society at large.

Corporate Philosophy

CSR is clearly spelled out in our mission, “To Make A Positive Difference Through Leading-Edge Services”. We aim to touch lives, bless families, enhance communities, and improve society by serving them in the best possible way.

Culture

We believe in the dignity and value of every human life both within the company and without. Our aim is “To Build A Warm, Dynamic, and Caring Family.”

We treat every person as a valued part of our extended family. At the same time, we are passionate about developing a second home in the office that is empowering, educational, exciting, and enriching.

Staff

HSR has a team of dedicated and competent staff who worked hard and is willing to go the extra mile to serve our agents and clients. We believe we have the best team and we are very proud of them. We are committed to look after our staff, enabling them to be the best they can be so that they can enjoy the best quality of life.

Agents

We love our agents. We will do everything we can to help our agents lead the field, earn top income, and live a great life.

Clients

Our aim is to turn our clients into our “Freehold” friends, serving them through 3 generations. To do that, we need to “wow” them and ensure they enjoy the best experience with us.

Business Practice

HSR is positioned as a premium brand, associated with professionalism, quality, service, and results. We aim to achieve the highest level of ethos, performance, and outcome.

HSR is the only company that highlights Code of Ethics and Conduct in our Orientation, Project Marketing, REM, and other classes. We not only talk about it, we also put it in print and enforce it.

We stood firmly in our position against cashback, illegal money lending, and forging documents even though it is a common market practice. We are pleased, even though we are the oldest mega agency; we have not received a major complaint from Property Tax Division, CASE, HDB or any other Authorities. HSR&rsqup;s goal is “To Be Clearly #1 and The Most Respectable Agency.”

Society

We are committed to helping deprived communities and building a strong and healthy society. Our staff is given 3 extra days of leave to volunteer for any worthwhile projects.

In addition, we collect a monthly love offering for our designated charity. We challenge our agents to give at least 10% of their gross commission to charity. The company has also more than match the givings, besides contributing in other ways as a social enterprise.

Environment

We encourage our family members to live out the values of good citizenship and to behave responsibly in protecting our environment.

Mother Earth is the only home we have. We need to reduce, reuse, recycle, repair, and recover valuable resources, and reject (The 6Rs) anything that is harmful to the environment.

From keeping the environment clean, saving water, electricity and other resources to not wasting papers, we must do our part to take care of the environment.

Partnership For A Worthwhile Cause

HSR Charity Challenge currently supports three charity organizations, two of which are currently operating from our office and can tap on our infrastructure, facilities, and other resources. Through these charities, we can contribute to society; from young people to adults and families, both within Singapore and overseas.

Operation Blessing (Singapore)

OB (Singapore) was set up in October 2003, as a non-profit society with a mission to alleviate human need and suffering by providing humanitarian relief initiatives and medical assistance. Our Patrick Liew is one of the founding members and have been sitting on the Board ever since.

With the support of Singapore volunteers, and medical and dental professionals, OB (Singapore) collaborates with local governments, non-government organizations, and humanitarian groups to provide, for example, free mobile clinics, clean drinking water, sanitary facilities, and help develop a sustainable and hygienic living environment in poor villages.

Promiseworks

They are a non-profit charity dedicated to development of young people in Singapore through youth development programs and the development of other voluntary organizations through non-profit consultations. They reach out to ‘Middle-of-the-curve’ youth that may come from families with a history of hardships and may be economically, socially, or academically disadvantaged. They run mentorship, adventure learning, industry visits, and other programs. Promiseworks won an Outstanding New Initiative Award from the National Voluntary and Philanthropy Centre.

Reach Family Service Centre

They are a non-profit charity, based in Bishan, that provides integrated remedial, preventive, and other services to help families and individuals cope with problems. It includes counseling and casework, information, and referral services.

Accountability

All donations by HSR family members will be sent directly, transparently and responsibly to the designated charity organizations and projects.

There will be a receipt for the donation signed by a credible neutral party. HSR will absorb all overheads, administrative, and operational costs.

We believe CSR makes absolute business and moral sense. It will enhance our warm dynamic, and caring family culture and at the same time, enhance our image and position in society.

It is a universal law, promoted by every major religion that we should always give back to the world. From experience, the world will never shortchange anybody. It will always give much more back to you. You'll live a better life.
